An Overview Of Some Of the Concerts I Have Attended

My passion for rock & roll music and live performances started in the late 60's and early 70's when my parents took me to a number of concerts at the "Capital Theatre" in the heart of Pretoria, South Africa.

The shows they took me to started off fairly safe, and progressively became more "interesting":

Max Bygraves (Tuxedo, bangers & mash!)
Katerina Valenti (Italian Shirley Bassey!)
The Everley Brothers ("Wake up little Suzy" harmonies!)
The Marmelade (Yeeee-Haaa!! 50 loudspeakers!!)

The latter was a milestone for me. They literally blasted the conservative cobwebs out of the ears of the Pretoria audience. I don't think one person in the "Capital" knew what they were letting themselves in for that evening!

The Marmelade opened up a whole new world of sound and excitement for me and, soon after that, I started buying the weekly teen music papers from the UK. I was hooked!

Over the years I have attended loads of concerts.
